In 2004, Moulana Hospital opened the first Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Department in the Malappuram District. With the help of an Australian embryologist, facilities for in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) were also started in the same year. Since 2012, the state-of-the-art Neonatal Care Unit (Neo Bless) has been running, led by UK-trained Consultant Doctors. Moulana Hospital has a Well Equipped Casualty and Poly Trauma Unit, 12 Operation Theatres, a Surgical Intensive Care Unit, a Neuro Surgical Intensive Care Unit, and a Trauma Intensive Care Unit, as well as a Critical Care Unit, a Neuro Physicians ICU, a Neonatal ICU, a New Born Nursery, a Respiratory Care ICU, a Cardio Thoracic ICU, an Intensive Coronary Care Unit
This hospital has the experts and equipment to do all important surgeries, including CABG, Valve Replacement Surgery, ASD Closure, Total Knee and Hip Replacement Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgeries, and Endoscopic Procedures. Moulana Hospital is the only place in Kerala State that has done the most laparoscopic surgeries, including paediatric laparoscopic surgeries and laparoscopic bariatric surgeries.
